Join us for a night of crafting fun while local artist Evelyn of Pink Sheep Designs teaches a unique finger loop knitting class. The unique finger-looping yarn is designed for you to be able to quickly and easily work up projects with just your fingers! In this class we will be using it to make a "knit" cat ear hat! No prior experience or tools needed! Class includes yarn and will last approximately 2.5 hours and includes a complimentary drip coffee or tea! Spaces are Limited, so Book now!

"Does this spark joy?" 

No? Well, throw that blouse and pair of heels in a trash bag and get ready for the second annual Java Cats Clothing Swap this Galentines Day!

The first Java Cats Clothing Swap was held back in 2017. Our 30 RSVP'ed event, after mysteriously being announced on the radio, quickly turned into controlled chaos after over 100 individuals showed up! Let me repeat....an event prepared for 30, turned into four times the size! It was cray! To prevent this from happening again, we have put a lot of effort into thinking through some guidelines.

In order for this to be the ultimate shopping and pampering Galentines Day experience to share with your closest gal pals, PLEASE read ALL of the event details below:

HOW IT WILL WORK:
+This event will take place Monday, Feb 11th
+There will be TWO sessions to pick from. This will eliminate overcrowding and make this a relaxing experience. (Will add a third time block if enough interest)
+Sign up for each session will be online (6pm & 8pm) All items will be fairly and evenly distributed. 
+Each person will be able to pick 10 items to start. The goal is to make sure everyone ends up with QUALITY (over quantity) items that they love, rather than speed grabbing as much as possible just to grab it (which is what we experienced last time). There will be changing rooms in place to try on clothes to make sure things work out! Whatever is left over will be donated to a women's shelter.
+Cover charge will be $15 per person and this will include:
-1.5hr to shop & visit with cats
-Complimentary drip coffee or tea of choice
-Light snacks
-FREE special edition Java Cats Tote bag for shopping
-Raffle ticket for a prize basket
-Cover also helps us continue our mission of saving cats



PARTICIPANT RULES:
+Each participant is required to contribute a minimum of 10 items that have been gently worn (Please bring as MUCH as you want, but 10 items is the minimum to make it worthwhile)
+All clothes should be GENTLY USED i.e. no unintentional holes, rips, stains, stretched out, faded, etc you get the idea. 
+Accessories: shoes, hats, jewelry, purses are welcome.
+We ALL have make-up and hair/face products that we impulsively buy then after using once decide "nope not for me, but what the heck do I do with this now?" BRING IT! There's bound to be someone that might be interested in trying something without purchasing from the store.

+*+Most Importantly: Clothes MUST be brought ahead of time (anytime before Feb 11th) This will allow everything to be sorted by article of clothing and size for a better shopping experience. Please refer to Grant Park hours when planning to drop off before the event. When you drop off, you will be handed a special token that you will use for entry for the event!

**All inclusive event welcome women, non binary folks and cis women. 
**Cats are in a partitioned lounge separate from the cafe & where the shopping area will be. Those who are mildly allergic should not have any issues as the HVAC is designed to keep even the air separated. 
**We are unable to accommodate children at this special Galentines event, so we hope you will enjoy this adults only occasion! 

MYSTERY CATS is a creative Photographic Series by Robin Davis featuring Cat Compositions from France and Italy. During the event, It’s ON! There will be a France vs. Italy guessing game to win a free print from the series! Join us on Friday January 25th from 7-9pm for a fun and interactive showing of photographic works by artist Robin Davis.

Take a break from the holiday hustle and bustle! Join us on December 18th for an afternoon of storytime led by an experienced elementary educator, and enjoy read alouds and engaging activities. All stories will be cat themed, and perfect for your cat loving kids! This event will be held in our cafe, making it perfect for kids with allergies to experience as well. At least one parent is required to stay for the event, and complimentary coffee will be included. 

This class is only $5 per child (ages 3-8) and includes a complimentary cup of drip coffee or tea for one adult!

Come join this fun event in the cat lounge alongside the kitties! Children will engage in activities and movement that focus on mindfulness. For Children ages 5-10 years old. 

Please arrive at 12:45pm for the introduction of the class with children and parents present. This is the time for questions and meeting each other; this will only take 15 minutes, 12:45pm-1pm. At 1pm the mindfulness class will begin. During this time, for this particular class, children will engage in activities and movement focused on mindfulness, such as breathing and cultivate strategies for calmness. There will be music and engaging, interactive activities as well as gentle yoga poses. The purpose of this class is for your children to take home tools to practice self regulation, increasing focus, and help continue mindful practice. The cats will add a fun and soothing element to the class not available anywhere else in Atlanta! 

Disclaimer: 

This is creative relaxation paired with fun and SECULAR. In other words, this is not what you might traditionally associate with mindfulness or yoga. There will not be any incense burning, chanting, silence, or any other stereotypical idea. The children will be in a welcoming, fun, and empowering space with cats, so if your child is allergic to animals/cats this is probably not the space for them. You will have the opportunity to observe the entire class from the bar along the windows in the café. At least one parent is required to stay for the event, and complimentary coffee will be included.
